Digital twin for the control of an induction motor

TFG awarded in the II Turing Machine Awards of the Higher School of Informatics of Ciudad Real, University of Castilla-La Mancha. Work carried out by Daniel Espinar and supervised by Félix Jesús Villanueva Molina.

Summary:

This document will explain the design, development and implementation process of a digital twin. The intention is that this document will serve firstly to understand the purpose of digital twins in the industry, as well as the advantages that they can offer, and secondly, to be able to follow the process of designing and developing not only a single digital twin, but also of a system that allows the management of several digital twins. This document takes the opportunity to provide information on the origin of the idea of the digital twin, as well as the main characteristics of these. To show the development process, the logical procedure followed behind the different decisions made will be explained. In this way, it will be possible to have enough knowledge about the system to be able to make modifications or add functions in a simple way with the aim of adapting it to the needs of a specific project. At the end of the process, the design of a scalable digital twin system will be completed along with the implementation of a digital twin prototype using real equipment to demonstrate operation.
