Summary.

El ransomware today constitutes a threat to the security of individuals and organizations throughout the planet. The amount and nature of the data handled daily by systems and services means that any incident that occurs has an enormous scope both from a personal and economic point of view. Although there are numerous proposals that have been developed to fight this scourge, the truth is that its impact does not seem to decrease. In order to raise awareness and train in this area, throughout the talk the fundamentals of ransomware, its evolution and families, as well as the main mechanisms and tools (technological and regulatory) designed to reduce, if not cancel, the effects of this type of malware and attack. And this from the perspective of the need for prevention and early detection to avoid irreversible damage to the victim.
