Elena Toothless, Emerging Talent Award 2024

Elena Toothless, predoctoral researcher of the group Green Team Alarcos at the Higher School of Informatics of the University of Castilla-La Mancha, has been awarded the “Emerging Talent 2024” award by the Ciudad Real City Council. This recognition is part of the celebrations of the International Women's Day and highlights promising young women in different disciplines. The award was presented during an event at the Antiguo Casino of Ciudad Real, which hosted various commemorative activities.

The initiative, promoted by the Department of Equality of the Town hall and headed by María José Escobedo, seeks to highlight the trajectories of women who have proven to be leaders both nationally and locally. Toothless, who has also completed the master in Computer Engineering and is currently pursuing his doctorate in Advanced Computer Technologies at UCLM, has expressed his honor and gratitude for the recognition, considering it an impetus to continue his research work.

Together with Toothless, Antonia Pérez was awarded the “Empowerment and Leadership” award for her dedication and efforts in the fight against trafficking in women in Ciudad Real, highlighting the importance of raising awareness in society, especially young people, about this problem. .

Both winners symbolize the commitment and contribution of women in various areas of society, serving as role models and evidencing the continuous efforts to achieve equality and recognition of women in all sectors.
