Interview with C. Bravo on the occasion of the 25th anniversary

In an interview with the COPE chain from Ciudad Real, Crescencio Bravo, director of the Higher School of Informatics of the University of Castilla-La Mancha, shares the institution's milestones and challenges in celebrating the 25th anniversary of higher studies in Computer Engineering. Since its founding in 1998, the school has been a benchmark for innovation and excellence in the field of Computer Engineering.

The conversion to a Higher School “It meant growing up, it meant moving up to the first division,” says Bravo when remembering the evolution of the school from its origin as a University School of Informatics. The transition to a Higher School meant a great qualitative leap, allowing the offer of advanced studies such as higher engineering in Computer Science, master's degrees and doctorates.

With more than 3.100 graduates, the institution prides itself on an employability rate close to 100%. “Today, our students have no problems finding work, there is practically no unemployment,” says Bravo. These numbers reflect the school's significant impact on the technological and economic fabric of the region.

Looking to the future, Bravo emphasizes the need for continuous adaptation and updating. “Such rapid progress requires that we also update ourselves relatively frequently,” he says. Plans for new master's degrees in Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing and Big Data are already underway, demonstrating the school's commitment to constant innovation.

During the interview at COPE, special emphasis was placed on the commemorative events that will take place throughout the month of February, including talks on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and spatial computing. “We are going to talk about very current topics, so that it is understood in an informative and also rigorous way,” says Bravo.

In the words of Crescencio Bravo, the Higher School of Informatics not only celebrates a past full of achievements, but also enthusiastically embarks on the path towards a promising future. “We continually adapt to technological changes to continue being leaders in training the professionals of tomorrow.” With this vision, the Higher School of Informatics is positioned as a relevant pillar in technological education in Spain.
