The ESI participates in 11F: Day of Women and Girls in Science

Like every year, the Higher School of Informatics joins the program of activities organized by the University of Castilla-La Mancha, for him day of women and girls in science, which is celebrated on 11 February. Because this year February 11th is a Sunday, the activities will take place tomorrow, Friday, February 9th.

How does the ESI participate?

The School will receive the visit of more than fifty students from various HEIs for whom it has organized the following activities:

• ACTIVITY 1. “Virtual Reality applied to health”, Vanesa Herrera, Carlos Romero, Arturo Avilés, Rosa María Fernández-Baíllo, Marcelo Chinarro, Samuel Espejo, Javier Loro. With demonstrations in the Techlab.
• ACTIVITY 2. “Is using my cell phone really bad for the environment?” Coral Calero, Elisa Jiménez, Olivia Poy, María Gonzalez. In the Ada Lovelace Graduate Hall.
• ACTIVITY 3. “Ingenious Women in Computing”, carmen lacave. In the LD4 Laboratory. 

Part of these activities are promoted by the project ingenious women and the project FCT2218343 with the collaboration of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.

Interview a scientist in your classroom

The School has also participated in this format through teacher Carmen Lacave, who was interviewed by the 4th year ESO students of the Melchor Cano School in Tarancón (Cuenca). This is an activity promoted by UCLM Divulga and brings together 86 UCLM researchers who bring science to 149 educational centers in the region.

STEM women in Castilla-La Mancha

Through Professor Coral Calero, the ESI also had a presence at the event “STEM Women in Castilla-La Mancha”, organized by the Regional Center for Digital Innovation of Castilla-La Mancha, on the occasion of 11F
