ESI Visits 2024 – Pre-university
On January 25, 2024, the visits to the Higher School of Informatics (ESI) by pre-university students belonging to different training centers in the provinces of Ciudad Real and Toledo. Visits that will extend until February 22, 2024.
For them, the ESI has prepared a guided tour through which they will be able to learn about the opportunities offered by the profession of Computer Engineer and part of the daily activity that we carry out at the School.
In particular, the guided tour includes an initial talk in the Alan Turing Assembly Hall about Computer Engineering and the possibilities offered by the School as a center that teaches the complete cycle in Computer Engineering and, in addition, it has the European quality seal Euro-inf. After this initial talk, the students are divided into several groups to:
- Visit the TechLAB and learn first-hand about some of the technologies that mark today. Visitors will be able to enjoy some demonstrations that include the application of Data Analysis, driving simulators and their application to teaching, Video Games and Artificial Intelligence, Computing applied to health, Immersive Electronic Commerce, Digital Twins, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality.
- Visit to the Data Center from the Higher School of Informatics – brief on-site explanation about data transfer and storage in the cloud.
- Visit some research groups and their laboratories. Includes mini-talks and demonstrations. IT applied to health, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Environmental Intelligence, Green Software, Internet of Things, Architecture and Networks, among others.
In the last course, the tour 2023, received more than 300 visitors from Alcázar de San Juan, Almadén, Almagro, Almodóvar del Campo, Argamasilla de Calatrava, Calzada de Calatrava, Ciudad Real, Corral de Almaguer, Daimiel, Herencia, La Solana, Madridejos, Malagón, Manzanares, Membrilla , Miguelturra, Moral de Calatrava, Pedro Muñoz, Piedrabuena, Porzuna, Puertollano, Santa Cruz de Mudela, Socuellamos, Toledo, Tomelloso, Valdepeñas, Villacañas, Villanueva de los Infantes, Villarrobledo, Villarrubia de los Ojos, Viso del Marqués.
More than 70% of last year's visitors are currently ESI students. The School offers 160 new admission places every year in the Computer Engineering Degree, an offer that has been 100% covered in recent years.
