The ESI in #chooseSerSTEM
On Wednesday, November 22, 2023, the Higher School of Informatics on the Ciudad Real campus (UCLM), was present at the event “Choose to be STEM” held in the Pedro Almodóvar auditorium in Puertollano and organized by the Industrial Complex of Repsol. More than 500 students from 4th year of ESO and 1st year of Baccalaureate from IES of Puertollano and Almodovar del Campo attended the event.
The School participated in a roundtable discussion titled “Future of STEM disciplines, professions with greater demand and sectors in search of talent", made of:
- Sofia Gonzalez Correa. Research staff from the Higher School of Industrial Engineering of Ciudad Real. Castilla-La Mancha university.
- Juan Francisco Romero. Professor of Chemical Engineering at the Faculty of Chemical Sciences and Technologies of Ciudad Real. Castilla-La Mancha university.
- Javier Alonso Albusac Jimenez. Deputy Director of Titles and Promotion, Ciudad Real Computer Science School. Castilla-La Mancha university.
- Jacinto Casasaltas Perales. Head of Department of the IES Leonardo da Vinci of Puertollano (Ciudad Real).
The main objective was to awaken #STEM vocations among the young people who attended the event, in which the School had the opportunity to offer an overview of the important role that Computer Engineering plays in the current panorama, as well as the promising future perspectives that are presented for the profession.
