On Thursday, September 14, 2023, students, professors and researchers from the Higher School of Informatics at the University of Castilla-La Mancha They carried out an experimentation session in the Pozuelo de Calatrava sports hall with players from the BM Pozuelo. In this session, attendees were put to the test with a goalkeeper trainer based on Virtual Reality, developed in a Master's Thesis (TFM) by student Óscar Domínguez Ocaña, and directed by Vanesa Herrera, Eusebio Angulo and Javier Albusac.

The system has different training modes and the ability to record the movement of the goalkeepers during the exercises for later analysis. During the experimentation session, promising results were obtained in which the participating subjects showed performance improvements in each subsequent session. The development includes a version of adapted handball that will be integrated into the Rehab-Immersive project coordinated between the AIR research group and National Hospital for Paraplegics of Toledo.
