On June 6, in Albacete, the Government of Castile-La Mancha celebrated the World Environment Day at a gala where he will reward 19 people and entities from the region for their commitment to the environment and sustainable development. The Minister of Sustainable Development, José Luis Escudero, thanked the winners for their work and dedication.

Among the recognized entities, there is furious koalas, a technology company from Ciudad Real, spinoff of the Ciudad Real School of Informatics and the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), to which professors David Vallejo and Carlos González belong, and which has obtained the Young Company of the Year 2022 Award for its project in the field of telecommunications 'Health-5G', a remote medical assistance system in emergency situations.

In addition, five special mentions were awarded, one of them to Professor Juan Carlos López López, professor at UCLM and director of the Computer Architecture and Networks Research Group (ARCO). Juan Carlos López is vice dean of the Official College of Telecommunications Engineers (COIT) and organizer of the 'Castilla-La Mancha Telecommunications Night', an annual event of reference in the ICT sector in the region.

The Minister of Sustainable Development expressed his congratulations on behalf of the entire regional government to the winners and thanked the awarded entities and projects for their commitment to the people and to the land of Castilla-La Mancha.
