Dorothy Monekosso visits the AIR group and the ESI

Dorothy Monekosso, Professor of Computer Engineering at the Durham University, and Technical Director (CTO) of More Life UK Ltd, is an internationally leading researcher in the field of healthcare technologies and rehabilitation. Dorothy, through Digital Health Hub , maintains a close working collaboration with the spin-off furious koalas of the ESI and UCLM, as well as with the AIR research group in ESI itself. On Tuesday, May 16, Dorothy and the AIR group held a coordination meeting related to the national research project "Development, implementation and deployment in the cloud of the REHAB-IMMERSIVE platform for the rehabilitation of the upper extremities“, coordinated with the National Hospital for Paraplegics of Toledo and financed by the Ministry of Science and Innovation.

Brief BIO of Dorothy Monekosso

Dorothy has a PhD (2000) in Aerospace Engineering, an MS in Satellite Engineering from the Surrey Space Center (University of Surrey) and a BA in Electronic Engineering. She began her career in the space sector, developing on-board computers and control systems for spacecraft and satellites. Dorothy became interested in Artificial Intelligence during her PhD applying machine learning methods and techniques to spacecraft autonomy. Thanks to this work, she received the award Engineering Foresight of the Royal Academy of Engineering. His current research applies the same techniques to develop innovative healthcare technologies. In 2020 he received an Honorary Fellowship from the British Computer Society for his work in assistive technologies and rehabilitation.
