On March 22, Pedro Yagüe, Director Consulting Expert of CGI, to give the conference Oracle Autonomous Database: The only self-managed databaseBelonging to Spring 2023 Lecture Series, at the Ciudad Real Higher School of Informatics.

conference summary

Pedro Yagüe

Even though customers update the software to the latest versions, the work of the database administration and operation teams remains very similar. You have to continue monitoring, securing, patching, making backup copies, troubleshooting and optimizing the database.

Oracle proposes Autonomous Database as an alternative, which allows automating many of these tasks and applying Machine Learning mechanisms so that the database runs with maximum efficiency at all times and drastically reduces costs while improving performance and the productivity. Additionally, administrators can dedicate themselves to more complex tasks with greater added value.

In this talk we will describe the main advantages of Autonomous Database and the main use cases, we will review its most relevant characteristics and we will demonstrate how it works.

Agenda

  • Introduction to Autonomous Database
