The ESI receives three of the COIICLM 2022 awards

Professor Coral Calero Muñoz, Professor Eduardo Fernández-Medina Patón and the Spin-off DQTeam associated with the Alarcos research group receive three of the prizes awarded by the Official College of Computer Engineers of Castilla-La Mancha, in its 2022 edition. Specifically, the prizes and the reasons are the following:

1. MOST OUTSTANDING PUBLIC PROJECT CATEGORY (Shared award).

Awarded: Coral Calero.

Justification: Coral Calero for her involvement in the scientific dissemination of Green ICT and her professional career. Coral is a PhD in Computer Engineering and Professor of Computer Languages ​​and Systems at the Higher School of Computer Science of the University of Castilla La Mancha. She is a member of the Alarcos Research Group, being responsible for the "Green and Sustainable software" line. This line of research is developed in three large areas. The first tries to measure the impact that the software has on the environment, so that it is possible to improve its energy efficiency. The second deals with the human aspects of software development, so that it is sustainable, and the third revolves around the economic aspects of software development and its impact on its sustainability. In addition to researching and publishing on these topics, she carries out dissemination tasks that try to raise awareness of the fact that software has an impact on the environment and the importance of working on its energy efficiency.

2.OUTSTANDING PROFESSIONAL CAREER CATEGORY.

Awardee: Eduardo Fernández-Medina Patón, professor at UCLM.

Justification: For his good management at the head of the Ciudad Real Higher School of Informatics to advance in the connection of students with information technology companies. For more than 9 years he has been the director of the Ciudad Real Higher School of Informatics, having developed excellent management at its head and advancing, among other things, in the connection of students with information technology companies. In his research facet, he has stood out developing numerous lines of research in the field of cybersecurity, software engineering and information systems at the head of the research group he directs, the Security and Audit Research Group (GSyA).

3.STARTUP/INNOVATIVE SME CATEGORY

Awarded: DATA QUALITY TEAM (DQTeam).

Justification: Due to its commitment and extension of the quality of the software. DQTeam was born in 2017 as a spin-off of the Alarcos Research Group, of the Ciudad Real Higher School of Informatics, of the University of Castilla-La Mancha. DQTeam is promoted by a group of computer science doctors and engineers with more than 20 years of experience in the field of data quality and data governance. DQTeam promotes the use of innovative data quality and governance models, based on ISO standards, to assess, improve and certify data quality. Among them, the ISO 25012 data quality model used in data quality assessments stands out, and the Alarcos Data Improvement Model (MAMD), based on ISO 8000 standards and other frameworks such as DAMA, and which is used for the development of ad hoc data governance programs.
