Visit of 50 Erasmus students from various HEIs

On Wednesday, September 28, 2022, the Higher School of Computing received the visit of 50 Erasmus students from various countries. For the visitors, the ESI prepared an Educational Minecraft workshop and a Virtual Reality workshop in the Techlab with which the students enjoyed for 3 hours.

A group of Italian, Norwegian, and Dutch international pre-university students will visit different facilities of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) at the Ciudad Real Campus throughout this week as part of a project included in the exchange program Erasmus in which the Instituto de Educación Secundaria Maestro Juan de Ávila from the capital of La Mancha participates. 

The project, under the title Imagine what it´s possible, involves 48 international students between 15 and 17 years old, six European teachers and a large group of teachers from the IES Maestro Juan de Ávila; and it involves carrying out several educational activities that will have as their final objective the improvement of social skills, knowledge of new scientific and digital media, the practice of languages ​​and the development of a European awareness among students. 

The activities began today with a visit to the Higher Technical School of Civil Engineering, where they were given a brief talk on the urban water cycle. Subsequently, the participating students and teachers traveled to the Hydraulics Laboratory to put into practice the knowledge acquired during the talk. 

In the coming days, the international delegation will also visit the Faculty of Education of Ciudad Real, where they will be received by the Vice-Rector for Students of the UCLM, Ángeles Carrasco; and the Higher School of Informatics. The academic activity will be complemented with trips to Toledo and Almagro to learn about the historical-cultural heritage of the area and with participation in different sports activities.
