Data Analysis in Soccer

As autumn enters, the cycle of conferences for the 2022-2023 academic year begins with a first talk given by Jesús Lagos Milla (@Vdot_Spain), – Head of Analytics at ScoutAnalys. The conference will be held on October 5 at 11.30 noon, in the Alan Turing Assembly Hall of the Higher School of Informatics.

Soccer as an element of great uncertainty, does it allow prediction? How can we rely on data analysis to reduce uncertainty in an injury, a transfer or a team's tactical system? We will see the evolution of data in football from manual data collection to the inclusion of ML and DL in data collection and the creation of metrics that help technical bodies and sports management in decision making.
