ResiCLA and HELP reach the 1.000 target

Today, and after almost 4 months of operation, the ResiCLA and AYUDA initiative have communicated on their social networks that they have achieved their goal of reaching €1.000 to help those affected by the La Palma volcano eruption.

ResiCLA and AYUDA is a solidarity project launched by the students of the Electronic Commerce subject of the Higher School of Informatics directed by Professor José Jesús Castro, who were joined by the ESI itself, the Delegation of Informatics Students ( ICD) and the General Foundation of the University of Castilla-La Mancha to help those affected by the eruption of the La Palma volcano. During the first semester, the students of the Electronic Commerce subject designed and developed an online solidarity flea market in which products donated by the ESI community would be offered, among them there would also be merchandising products from the ESI itself and from the UCLM, to that could be acquired by other members of the community interested in them. All the money obtained would go entirely to help those who are providing aid to those affected by the eruption of the La Palma volcano (eg Cabildo de La Palma, Cáritas or Red Cross).

In addition, with the initiative of selling items that are no longer used, trying to give them a second life, they were collaborating with the environment, favoring responsible and more sustainable consumption, reducing waste and pollution produced in the process of manufacturing and favoring recycling.

Throughout the second quarter, the initiative has collected many donations of products, among which there have been very interesting things, such as a Nintendo DS, a Logitech wireless steering wheel for PS2/3 and PC, and a wide variety of books, CDs and DVDs that have been offered through the online Solidarity Market. In these almost four months the initiative has raised €1013,36 in total, of which €703,7 through sales made through the flea market, €9,66 from direct donations and €300 that were raised at the charity market physical that was carried out on April 25.

From here we want to join in the thanks that ResiCLA and HELP give to all those who have collaborated in the initiative, both in its development or in its daily management, as well as to all those who have been generous and committed people and have donated or bought a product. Thank you very much to all!
