Finals – XV Castilla-La Mancha Computing Olympics

This Friday, May 20, 2022, the Escuela Superior de Informática will host the face-to-face final of the XV Castilla-La Mancha Informatics Olympiad, where the 10 best teams will participate after completing 3 online tests in the two categories: (1) Baccalaureate and (2 ) Training Cycles.

In Baccalaureate the 3 online tests have been on Basic Computer Science, Office Automation and Programming. While in Training Cycles the 3 online tests have been on Operating Systems, Databases and Programming.

The 10 best Baccalaureate teams have been:

At 10:30 a reception will be held with all the finalists, at 11:30 all the finalists have the first test. Subsequently, the organization will invite all students and tutors to eat. At 16:00 p.m. the 3 teams that will access the great final contest that will be held at 16:30 p.m. for Baccalaureate and 17:00 p.m. Training Cycles will be announced. The programming will end at 18:00 with the awards ceremony.

These 10 teams of each modality will compete in a preliminary test "Catch the Flag" where the first countries to answer the questions about the agenda will win and this test will determine the 3 best classified for the great final contest. The final contest will have a television format where the 3 best in each category will answer questions in an attractive and fun format for both contestants and the viewer who will decide the order of the 3 best in each category. There will be prizes for the audience and for the eliminated teams that get the most questions right during the contest. You can see an example of this type of contest in the following video:

All this has been possible thanks to the tutors of the institutes with a great job behind so that the students can take the tests and to the professors of the university who have selflessly collaborated so that this activity that began on January 17 can be carried out with the first online test. The award ceremony will be attended by the sponsors who have made the development of this activity possible and members of the University of Castilla-La Mancha, including the Vice-Rector for Students, Ángeles Carrasco, and the Vice-Rector for Studies, Quality and Accreditation , José Manuel Chicharro, representatives of the City Council of Ciudad Real, Provincial Council of Ciudad Real and the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha.
