Final Straight XV Informatics Olympiad

We enter the final stretch of the competition, from April 21 to 28 the third online test will take place for all participants of the Baccalaureate and Training Cycles modalities of all the Institutes of Castilla-La Mancha.

The 10 best classified of each modality after completing the 3 online tests will dispute the great face-to-face final phase at the Escuela Superior de Informática de Ciudad Real, where the 3 best will win the prizes and will participate in the great final contest.

Third Test

• Representation of information:

  3. Conversion between numbering systems.
  4. The bit, the byte and their multiples.
  5. The logic of computers: Boolean algebra, operations and laws.
• Components of a computer system:

  2. The processor: arithmetic-logical unit and control unit. The instructions.
  3. The memory. Memory types. Hierarchy of memory.
  4. The buses.
  5. Input/Output Units. Human interface devices. Storage devices.

  8. Graphics Processing Unit (GPU).

  1. Definition and functions of the operating system.
  2. Types of operating systems.
  3. File systems.
  4. Work with Windows and Linux systems:
     1. Files and folders. Organization of a hard drive.
     2. windows environment. Management with mouse and keyboard shortcuts.
     3. Command line. Basic commands.
  5. Mobile operating systems.
• Network and Internet:
  1. Types of networks. Components. Topology.
  2. Internet. IP addresses and URLs.
  3. The World Wide Web. Browsers and search engines.
