The ESI receives more than 100 visitors at the open day

After two years following an online modality due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the University of Castilla-La Mancha and the Escuela Superior de Informática de Ciudad Real recovered their face-to-face version of the open days, also including, as a novelty this year, the celebration of the Fair "Study at UCLM", installed in the Luis Arroyo Paraninfo where various centers on the Ciudad Real campus have installed their stands to inform about their studies to the families that have participated in the day of coexistence.

In particular, the Escuela Superior de Informática de Ciudad Real received numerous families, exceeding the figure of 100 visitors. They were initially received in the School's auditorium where they were welcomed and a talk was given on the impact of Computer Engineering today and its influence in the near future, as well as what the School, as a center that teaches the complete cycle in Computer Engineering, can offer future students. During the talk, a live connection was also made with the ITSI Research Institute showing attendees part of the facilities and a brief demonstration of the technologies used in some of our projects.

After this first part of the conference, a tour of the center's facilities began, which included:

  • Visit to open spaces and gardens where some sports and leisure activities take place
  • Visits to emblematic rooms of the School such as Anita Börg or Mónico Sánchez
  • Theory classrooms and laboratories
  • Data center
  • Research laboratories
  • computer science museum
  • Demonstrations at the Techlab

In the laboratory of emerging technologies, families have been able to enjoy some demonstrations and real applications of Computer Engineering, and have been invited to be part of them.

Finally, and in parallel, the ESI participated in the Feria studies at UCLM with the installation of a stand where the computer knowledge of the interested families was put to the test, through a game of questions and answers, with merchandising from the School as gifts. The families took the opportunity to consult all kinds of questions about the curriculum and the services provided by the center.
