Home of the ResiCLA project and Help
On Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at 10:00 in the Hall of Degrees of the Higher School of Informatics, the ResiCLA AND HELP Project was presented. The event was attended by D. Cesar Sánchez Meléndez - Vice-Rector for Culture, Sports and Social Responsibility of the UCLM.
ResiCLA and AYUDA is an initiative of the students of the Electronic Commerce subject of the Higher School of Informatics directed by Professor José Jesús Castro, with the collaboration of the Delegation of Informatics Students of the ESI (DAI), staff of the ESI and the General Foundation of the University of Castilla-La Mancha. It is based on an online solidarity flea market (https://portal.esi.uclm.es/resiclayayuda/), in which new or second-hand products donated by generous people will be put up for sale. The funds obtained will be sent to those affected by the eruption of the La Palma volcano. This initiative is novel in the Spanish university, since, although solidarity markets have been organized, it has never been carried out online, adapted to current times, and even less carried out by the students themselves.
In addition, with the sale of items that are not used, we are trying to give them a second life, favoring recycling and more responsible and sustainable consumption, reducing waste and pollution produced in the manufacturing process.
Because right now? Nowadays everything is immediate, even catastrophes. Once the volcanic eruption is over, unfortunately they are no longer news, it is as if nothing had happened... However, the need continues to exist, even if they no longer show it to us on a daily basis. The students with this project want to bring them back to memory, so that society does not forget them so easily and what has happened there. Now more than ever they need to feel supported and they want to help them feel it.
ResiCLA Y AYUDA is the tenth solidarity project that is launched from the ESI, joining in this way it joins those already carried out for the Lucero Occupational Center in Alhama de Granada, Protector of Animals The Welcome of Ciudad Real, Santa Agueda Association Women Affected by Breast and Gynecological Cancer of Puertollano, VivELA Association of friends, relatives and affected by ALS, Premature Children Association "Little Fighters" of Ciudad Real, Puertollano White Miner Association, Help Puertollano Families – Calvo Sotelo Veterans y AFANION, Association of Families of Children with Cancer of Castilla-La Mancha.
In this type of experience, the student learns the theoretical and practical knowledge of a subject while facing the development of a real project of a social nature, thus offering a service to society. In addition, it works on skills such as: teamwork, commitment, responsibility, involvement and humility.
Now it's time to support the initiative by buying and donating products.
