Best researchers of the UCLM

Thirty-seven researchers from the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) are among the best in the world according to the latest edition of the classification prepared by Jhon PA Ioannidis (Stanford University, United States) and co-authors, which analyzes their scientific production and the times they have been cited, among other criteria. In the new list, the institution advances positions by incorporating six and five researchers, respectively, to each of the two subclassifications (research career and year 2020).

A total of 27 researchers and four researchers from UCLM are at the top of the international system of science and technology by virtue of the classification made by Stanford University and published by the magazine plosbiology. The work is based on the information contained in the Scopus database to evaluate scientists for the impact of their citations. Collectively, the contributions of the top 2 researchers in all fields based on the composite citation index, as well as other colleagues who are in the top XNUMX% of scientists in their top discipline, are shown.

The study by Ioannidis and his co-authors is organized into two sub-classifications at the temporal level: one that collects the relationship of the researchers based on the impact of their citations throughout their entire research career until the end of 202 and another that limits the analysis to year 2020. In the first of them, which refers to the scientific career as a whole, the UCLM places a total of 26 researchers, while in the second -the one corresponding to 2020- the figure rises to 31.

Between the two classifications, there are 37 UCLM researchers who appear in the list: Celia Álvarez-Bueno, Octavio Armas, José Manuel Arroyo, Luis Baringo, Miguel Ángel Caminero, Pablo Cañizares, Miguel Carrión), Iván Cavero-Redondo, Jesús Miguel Chacón, Javier Contreras, Antonio de Lucas, Abderrazzak Douhal, Vicente Feliu-Batlle, Antonio Fernández-Caballero, Fausto García Márquez, Lourdes Gómez-Gómez, Christian Gortázar, Isidro Hermosín, Juan José Hernández, Ricardo Insausti, Magín Lapuerta, Justo Lobato , Manuel Lucas-Borja, Rafel Luján, Vicente Martínez-Vizcaíno, Víctor Pérez-García, Mario Piattini, Ángel Ríos, Manuel Rodrigo, Gonzalo Ruiz, Francisco Ruiz-Pons, José Ruiz-Moreno, Cristina Sáez, Juan Carlos Sánchez-Hernández, Luz Sánchez-Silva, José Luis Valverde and Joaquín Vicente.

The latest study update Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators, known as ranking of Stanford, implies an advance in the indicators for the UCLM, which incorporates with respect to the previous edition six researchers to the career subclassification and five to that corresponding to the year 2020.

In the general calculation, Spain is ranked 13th according to the number of researchers in the career list and 11th in the list corresponding to 2020.
