Two ESI students will participate in the UCLM RURAL program. University students facing depopulation

The students Jesús Burgos Baena and Lucas Gutiérrez Durán will form part of UCLM Rural in the entities Kaam Innovation and Technology (Robledo-Albacete) and the Calzada de Calatrava town hall

The reversal of depopulation and the anchoring of young people in rural areas is the work of all the public and private institutions that intervene in the political, economic and educational life of the autonomous community of Castilla-La Mancha. From the University of Castilla-La Mancha -UCLM- it is intended to contribute to the solution of this problem through the implementation of the Program “UCLM-Rural. University students in the face of depopulation”, in order to bring young people closer to other environments, promote employment and combat depopulation by promoting internships in companies and institutions located in rural areas.

This program will allow UCLM students to complete their training through the development of paid external internships in companies, institutions and associations in rural areas and sparsely populated towns in Castilla-La Mancha, with the aim of facilitating the encounter between the offer from of students interested in these internships and the demand for talent from companies and institutions.

The aim is to contribute to the fulfillment of one of the great objectives of the public university, which is to act as a transforming element of our society, to contribute by applying learning and knowledge in our environment and, of course, to help improve opportunities in the rural environment.
