Search candidates for transfer project
The MECYDES section (Quantitative Methods and Socioeconomic Development) of the Regional Development Institute (IDR) of the UCLM is looking for candidates for a possible employment contract to carry out tasks related to the transfer project carried out with the company Tests & Trials SL.
The profile sought is that of a Master's or final year Bachelor's student with an interest in statistical data analysis and knowledge of a related application or language (R, Python, MATLAB, etc). The company carries out its activity in animal production farms, and its main activity is carrying out tests and studies with pharmaceutical, immunological and nutritional products. Thus, the offer is suitable both for students and graduates of Computer Science with an interest in data science and/or biotechnology, as well as for Agronomists and the like with an interest in data science and biostatistics, without excluding other degrees with an interest in these topics.
The tasks will be carried out under the direction and supervision of the researcher Emilio Lopez Cano, which will provide the necessary tools and support to carry them out and with extensive experience in similar projects.
The employment contract can be complemented with an internship period (curricular or not) that would serve to improve the required training.
There are real possibilities of continuity and professional development in the company or the research group, depending on the results of the project.

Project description and tasks
The company is mainly dedicated to performing data analysis of all kinds (clinical trials, food safety, animal health, quality control, etc.) for companies in the animal production sector (mainly both Spanish and foreign farms). They have been developing their internal tools with R for years and need to make it productive through three main tasks: 1) database homogenization; 2) “package” the scripts in R; 3) Design and implementation of a Shiny interface for its use.

- 6-month part-time contract FOURTH-O-II category (approximately 500 euros per month). From the resolution of the corresponding call.

- Real possibilities of expanding the project or even joining the company.
