QUATIC 2019: ICT Quality Forum

This international event is held for the first time in Spain, by the Escuela Superior de Informática de Ciudad Real

The Higher School of Computer Science of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) at the Ciudad Real Campus celebrates the twelfth International Conference on the Quality of Information and Communication Technologies (QUATIC 11) from September 13 to 2019. In its twelfth edition, -it is the first time that this forum has stopped in Spain-, 70 researchers from 19 countries participate and will discuss advances in the sector.

At its inauguration, the professor of the Area of ​​Languages ​​and Computer Systems of the UCLM Mario Piattini, co-chairman of the forum program committee, explained that this is the first time that the Conference has come to Spain and that it is a "pride" to be has chosen the Escuela Superior de Informática de Ciudad Real as its venue.

Professor Piattini has indicated that among the topics that the researchers will work on throughout the meeting are how to collect quality requirements, how to apply artificial intelligence techniques to improve software quality or how to speed up the process and productivity of system development of information. Likewise, he has indicated that there will be three 'star' conferences in which a review of 50 years of Software Engineering will be made and how its quality has improved in this time, the development of autonomous cars with quality and safety and the treatment of quality in the face of uncertainty.

In addition to researchers, this forum will also have a place for professionals in the sector. The second of the conferences, 'Industrial Day', has been reserved for them, in which representatives of companies from inside and outside the region will participate and in which activities will be carried out aimed at the software industry and its role in the quality of ICT.

In short, according to the professor at the Escuela Superior de Informática and one of the presidents of the organizing committee, Ignacio García Rodríguez de Guzmán, an "important" conference for "a region like ours, which has a business fabric in the field of ICT that is growing continuously and quite strongly”.

Along with the organizers, the director of the Higher School of Informatics, Eduardo Fernández-Medina, also participated in the inauguration of the congress, who has assured that this activity "aligns very well" with the philosophy of the center and the University of promoting internationalization to the maximum, with the participation, in this case, of the most relevant international researchers in the field of computer quality.

Likewise, the mayor of Ciudad Real, Pilar Zamora, has also supported the congress with her presence.
