Conference on programming and robotics in education

The ESI organizes these conferences for students of the Faculty of Education

The Higher School of Computer Science of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) at the Ciudad Real Campus held on December 1 practical workshops for students in the fourth year of the Degree in Teaching at the Faculty of Education in which they were They will give the keys to learn to teach programming and robotics to children.

Around 130 fourth-year students from the Faculty of Education of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) at the Ciudad Real Campus have exchanged their classrooms for those of the Higher School of Computing in order to participate in a conference at the who have had the opportunity to learn about and experience programming and new interactive technologies applied to Early Childhood and Primary Education. 

The conference was opened by the director of the Higher School of Computing, Eduardo Fernández; and the Dean of the Faculty of Education of Ciudad Real, Rosario Irisarri. In this sense, they have highlighted that activities of this nature help to reflect on the importance of information technologies and are a clear commitment to research and innovation in the classroom. After her, the deputy director of the host center, Ramón Hervás, gave a talk in which he explained the role that Computer Science plays in Education. 

Throughout the morning, the university students, -future teachers-, have had the opportunity to participate in four practical workshops on technologies in which they will be shown how to teach programming and robotics to children. 

The sessions are part of the activities programmed in 'The Hour of Code', a global campaign in which millions of students from more than 180 countries participate and which aims to get children to spend an hour learning to code through play.
