Open and dynamic space dedicated to the latest generation interactive technologies
New technologies have transformed in recent years, and will do so even more in the coming years, our way of life. The Higher School of Computer Science of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) at the Ciudad Real Campus, in its interest in training excellent professionals in this field, has opened an interactive classroom in which its students and researchers will be able to learn about the latest technological advances and practice with them. The new space will also be open to Secondary and Baccalaureate students, an example of the center's commitment to its social environment.
The Higher School of Computer Science of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) at the Ciudad Real Campus has inaugurated the TechLab room, a dynamic and open space dedicated to interactive technologies, in which students and researchers from the center, as well as society in general, will be able to learn about and experiment with the latest generation devices that will mark the world of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the coming years. Specifically, ESI-TechLab integrates cutting-edge technologies such as virtual reality and augmented reality, which immerse the user in a digital environment in which any experience is possible; robots capable of recognizing us, communicating and identifying our emotions; drones with which to explore our environment from the air and see what they see; 3D printers and scanners or 'wearable' devices with which to control our computer with gestures and even with the mind.
With this initiative, the center shows its concern for quality and excellence, trying to train professionals who in the future will have special relevance in the development of new technologies, but also to connect the school with society, showing them the computer advances that They will mark our future. This new space will allow the students of the School the possibility of training in the technology of the future, since it will put at their disposal the technologies that in the coming years will have a preferential presence in homes and in the industrial and productive fabric. In this way, students will be able to carry out subject practices and their final degree project.
