Hour of code

World event “Hour of Code”. Interview with the professor and professor of the ESI, Francisco Ruiz

The hour of code (http://hourofcode.com/es) is a global movement for anyone, especially children, to participate in discovering the fundamentals of computer programming. The objective is to use Computer Science as a transversal learning tool that facilitates the development of various thinking and linguistic skills, such as problem solving, abstract reasoning, capacity for analysis and synthesis, or precision in presentation.

Among the more than 77000 activities carried out with 78 million participants, it is worth highlighting what is probably the largest computer science outreach activity in history: The Computer Education Week (http://csedweek.org/), held from December 8 to 14, 2014.

Francisco Ruiz, Professor of Computer Science at the Escuela Superior de Informática de Ciudad Real, is one of the promoters of these initiatives, having written informative articles in the media (see link) and being interviewed about it in the program 'La Brújula', about Science and technology, of national ONDA CERO (see link)
