Final Contest VII Informatica Olympics

Friday, May 24 at 16:00 p.m.

For the seventh consecutive year, the Informatics Olympiad is being held with teams representing the entire region. On Friday, May 24, the final face-to-face test will be held at the Escuela Superior de Informática de Ciudad Real.

The online tests of the Seventh edition, both in the Baccalaureate competition and in the Vocational Training competition, concluded on May 10. In total, the 23 teams (12 from Formative Cycles and 11 from Baccalaureate) made up of 67 students and 16 tutors who occupy the first positions in the two modalities will compete in person for the final test, which will be held next Friday, May 24, and in which all the provinces of the region will be present. Almost 100 teams have participated in this edition.

The teams will begin on Friday with a final face-to-face test that will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 13:00 p.m. at the facilities of the Escuela Superior de Informática de Ciudad Real. One of the novelties of this 7th Edition of the Informatics Olympiad is the introduction of a Television Contest in the Final Phase.

The three teams in each category (Baccalaureate and Vocational Training) that obtain the highest score in the Final Face-to-Face Test held on the morning of May 24 will compete in a vibrant contest of questions and answers in TV format (with buttons, multimedia questions, rebounds, etc…) in the afternoon.

This last stage of the contest will be held in the Auditorium of the Escuela Superior de Informática de Ciudad Real, on Friday, May 24, from 16:00 p.m. to 18:00 p.m. At 16:00 the teams will be notified of the finalists for this phase. Any attendee to the event will be able to participate as in the final as a public, answering the questions through their mobile phone, thus playing to qualify for the prizes for the best contestants among the public.

The categories of questions will be the same as during the rest of the tests of the Olympics plus a category of "General Computer Culture". The score in this final will decide the order of the Podium (1st, 2nd and 3rd Prize) of the Olympics. The organization of the Olympics has prepared important prizes for the first, second and third classified teams in each of the modalities, as well as for the best contestants from the public, which will be awarded on the same day.

The event is sponsored by Everis, Ontinet / ESET, Tecnobit, DocPath, the Indra Chair, Tuenti, the Castile-La Mancha Community Board, the Provincial Council and City Council of Ciudad Real, the Indra Chair, the Institute of Technologies and Systems of Information, the Albacete Computer Research Institute, the Department of Technologies and Information Systems and the Department of Computer Systems, and the Science and Technology Park of Albacete. Similarly, the Olympiad has the collaboration of the Federation of Information Technology Companies of Castilla-La Mancha.
