Talk: Tuenti Team

Talk by Pedro Álvarez on Thursday, November 22

El Jewish 22 of Mayo Pedro Álvarez, Senior Engineer of Tuenti, will describe the work team of the famous social network, which in recent years has become the website with the most traffic in Spain. The conference, with free admission, will be given to 12:30 in the Assembly Hall of the ESI.

Tuenti was created in 2006 and currently has more than 14 million users who visit nearly 50.000 million pages per month, making the platform the website with the most traffic nationwide. In 2011, Cristóbal Fernández, Director of Communications for the social network, confirmed that 15% of all Internet traffic in Spain passes through this platform. The enormous size required by Tuenti's services (more than 4 million photos uploaded by users per day, 200 million chat messages per day or 33 years of video viewed per day, to name a few), requires high availability solutions and quality of service.

To make these impressive figures possible, a team of 250 young professionals (average age 29), most of them computer engineers, work distributed in teams with different responsibilities.

Pedro Álvarez will describe the different work teams of the social network, as well as the efforts and lines of development and innovation that position the famous social network as one of the main search sources on Google at a national level.
