Siempre que alguien defiende su tesis doctoral es un d\u00eda muy especial. Ayer, d\u00eda 24 de junio fue uno de esos d\u00edas especiales para el grupo de investigaci\u00f3n MAmI<\/a> y la Escuela Superior de Inform\u00e1tica, con la defensa de la tesis doctoral de Alejandro P\u00e9rez Vereda<\/strong>, titulada A User-Centered Mobile Computing Framework for Context Awareness.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

En esta tesis se propone el uso de modelos de computaci\u00f3n social alternativos al modelo cliente\/servidor, concretamente, un modelo distribuido basado en el uso de los smartphones como principal representante de los usuarios con su entorno tecnol\u00f3gico. Esta investigaci\u00f3n aboga por este tipo de modelo que permite el empoderamiento de los usuarios, al permitirles tomar el control de la informaci\u00f3n y el contenido que generan, as\u00ed como determinar c\u00f3mo terceros acceden y utilizan esa informaci\u00f3n de manera segura. De este modo, la presente propuesta se encuadra en un paradigma de computaci\u00f3n social centrado en las personas y no en las instituciones, ya sean p\u00fablicas o privadas. La principal contribuci\u00f3n presentada en este trabajo es el framework Digital Avatars para aplicaciones de computaci\u00f3n social colaborativa basadas en dispositivos m\u00f3viles, que otorga a los smartphones la capacidad de aprender perfiles virtuales o avatares digitales de sus propietarios y compartirlos como un servicio de forma controlada. El cuerpo principal de la tesis est\u00e1 compuesto por 3 art\u00edculos publicados en revistas indexadas que tratan investigaciones realizadas en torno a esta tesis doctoral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
