End of registration period, Course – Digitization of the road world

On September 26 and 27, the seminar "Digitalization of the rural world: challenges, technologies and opportunities" will be held in the Auditorium of the Escuela Superior de Informática de Ciudad Real. Within the program of Summer Courses of the UCLM 2022, this forum aims to make a diagnosis of the problems and challenges facing rural areas so that, from the point of view of Information Technology and Communications ( ICT), see the needs of the territories. Through the scheduled presentations, existing technologies will be delved into as tools for the modernization and digital transformation of key sectors such as agriculture, health or citizen services. In the design of the course, special emphasis has been placed on the practical aspect, through the sharing of experiences and real projects. In addition, the promotion of the entrepreneurial spirit and the discovery of business opportunities through use cases and real applications plays an important role in order to promote this facet among computer science students. For all this, the course has a fantastic panel of national and regional experts representing companies, research centers, associations and public bodies, covering all the actors involved in this important challenge. The course consists of three sessions (morning and afternoon on Monday 26, and the morning of Tuesday 27) followed by two round tables that cover a variety of topics such as communications, enabling technologies and use cases, and business initiatives. The opening speech will be given by Mr. Miguel Ángel Panduro, CEO of Hispasat. The course is aimed at both UCLM students and staff, as well as companies, administrations and socio-economic agents interested in learning how ICTs can help tackle the challenges of depopulation in rural areas and professional and business opportunities.
