The Hackathon is a programming marathon, which will take place for 9 uninterrupted hours, on Monday, November 6, 2023 at the Higher School of Informatics. The planned schedule is from 9:30 a.m. to 19:00 p.m. The objective of the competition will be to overcome the greatest number of programming challenges. The tests will consist of solving logical, mathematical and similar problems by carrying out small applications. The team that completes all the tests correctly or that achieves the highest score at the end of the stipulated time will be the winner.

If you know how to program in a general-purpose programming language, you are ready to test yourself and enjoy the experience.

How It Works

The event will be held BYOD style (“Bring Your Own Device”), that is, participants must bring their own equipment to carry out the tests, the organization will provide the necessary infrastructure to carry out the activity, such as tables, chairs, power outlets, etc.

The participating teams will be made up of a maximum of 2 people, who will each be able to work with their team. To solve the tests, the programming languages ​​and environments that each team considers appropriate for solving said test may be used. The tests will be designed so that they can be solved with any programming language.

What can i win?

The following awards, sponsored by the SMACT classroom, are planned for this competition:

  • First Prize to the winning team a cash prize of €1.000
  • Second Prize with a cash prize of €500
  • Third Prize with a cash prize of €200

In addition, there will be some smaller prizes corresponding to special tests that will be discovered throughout the competition.

Base

  1. Participants must be students from the Ciudad Real Higher School of Informatics who register until the event capacity is complete.
  2. Participation will be carried out in teams of up to 2 people.
  3. Each participating team must register during the registration period in the link enabled for this purpose on the website of the Higher School of Informatics. When registering, you must provide the following information:
    1. Name, surname and email of the participants, a contact telephone number
    1. All data provided will be treated in accordance with the provisions of the legislation on the protection of personal data with the sole purpose of managing participation in the tournament.
  4. From among the registrations received, the organization will select the participants in order of registration, until capacity is reached.
  5. Tournament structure:

The organization of the Hackathon 2023 event will propose a series of challenges with a score each to be solved during the duration of the competition. The teams must solve the challenges and accumulate the points that each challenge is worth. The teams with the highest score at the end of time will be the winners.

  • The communication of winners and awarding of prizes will take place at the awards ceremony.
  • The Jury will be made up of a commission delegated by the director of the Higher School of Informatics, directed by:

  • The Jury will make public its decision, which will be final, on the day of the awards ceremony.
  • Participation in this contest implies acceptance of these rules.
  • The Jury will decide on any unforeseen event not contemplated in these rules.
