The GSyA group obtains a European ERANET CHIST-ERA project to improve the security of decentralized systems

El GSyA research group, from the Higher School of Informatics of Ciudad Real (UCLM), has obtained the grant of a European research project in the call ERANET CHIST-ERA 2022, in which our professors Eduardo Fernández-Medina Patón, Antonio Santos-Olmo, Luis Enrique Sánchez Crespo and David García Rosado are part of the research team.

The project, called Di4SPDS (Distributed Intelligence for Enhancing Security and Privacy of Decentralized and Distributed Systems), is a joint effort with researchers from Finland's Lappeenranta-Lahti University, Turkey's Firat University, and France's Nantes University. Presented in January 2023, the proposal has obtained a favorable resolution this week.

The goal of Di4SPDS is to develop a framework that increases the ability to protect the security and privacy of decentralized and distributed systems. This will be achieved through an inter-domain access control scheme, a self-aware system for collaborative intrusion detection, and dynamic risk management that takes into account sustainability from the dimension of resource and energy consumption.

The project will use blockchain techniques, federated learning, and multi-agent architecture to improve access control, intrusion detection, risk management, and collaborative response.

This collaboration is carried out within the framework of the ERANET CHIST-ERA 2022 call, through which the State Research Agency (AEI) of Spain supports transnational research in information and communication sciences and technologies. The AEI has allocated an initial budget of 600.000 euros to finance the Spanish entities that participate in the projects approved in this transnational call.
