20 reasons to study the MASTER

Are you considering studying a Master after completing the Degree in Computer Engineering? You know our Master in Computer Engineering?. Here are some reasons why you should consider it among your options:

  1. Achievable in one year (72 ECTS). The MUII has an associated load of 72 ECTS credits and, therefore, it can be completed in just one year.
  2. official master's degree Approvable throughout the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) with the possibility of applying for State scholarships. In addition, the fact of being official implies other advantages that will be mentioned later.
  3. enabling for the professional exercise of Computer Engineering (level 3 MECES)
  4. Professional Master. We invite experts from different sectors to contribute to the training process, some of them participate as guest lecturers offering a practical approach and passing on their experience.
  5. Professional certifications. At the beginning of the first and second semester, a week is devoted to training students to obtain professional certifications, highly valued in the business world. The training is paid for by the School itself.
  6. Higher qualification and higher salary. The Spanish Qualifications Framework for Higher Education is divided into four levels: 1st Advanced Modules, 2nd Graduate, 3rd Master and 4th Doctorate. With the Master's degree, you are promoted to level 3 and, by having a higher qualification, you opt for better salaries.
  7. Better working conditions. According to reports from Center for Information and Employment Promotion of the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Master's degree holders are 10% more likely to find work than graduates, to do so in less time, and with better working conditions. The MUII graduate usually opts for jobs in larger companies and positions of greater responsibility.
  8. Development of leadership and management skills. The Master in Computer Engineering will not only provide you with technical skills, but will also teach you how to manage teams, projects and resources, which is vital for leadership roles.
  9. Programmes. The knowledge of the MUII is structured in three modules. A first module of Direction and Management, whose objective is to equip you with the necessary skills to occupy positions of greater responsibility and, consequently, opt for better salaries. On the other hand, in the second module a series of capacities linked to Advanced and Leading Technologies that mark the development and progress of today's society are acquired. Some examples of these technologies are Big Data, Cloud Computing, Smart Cities, Supercomputing, Cyber-Physical Systems, Augmented Reality, Cybersecurity or Artificial Intelligence. Lastly, in the third module, the student must carry out, present and defend a comprehensive Computer Engineering project of a professional nature in which part of the skills acquired during the Master are synthesized, with an associated load of 9 ECTS.
  10. Master not focused on a specific theme. Students, from the 3rd year, specialize technologically with the choice of an intensification. However, when the student carries out his professional activity, he is integrated into multidisciplinary groups. The knowledge and skills acquired at the MUII are essential for this integration and the possibility of successfully functioning in a broader range of fields.
  11. Face-to-face Master with small groups. Greater personalized attention from teachers in a relaxed atmosphere. Follow-up of the course from teaching platforms to the greatest extent possible, to facilitate the reconciliation between studies and working hours. Attendance at assessment tests is mandatory.
  12. Research and development. If you are interested in research, the Master's will provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out your own research, join one of the ESI research groups, and contribute to the development in one of the fields that you are passionate about.
  13. Access to the Doctorate: To access the PhD it is mandatory to pass 60 credits from an official Master's degree. The MUII offers the student a door to the doctorate and to the last MECES level.
  14. Improvement of score in State oppositions: the Master's degree (if it is official) improves the score in the scale of personal merits.
  15. Practices and FORTE Master. The practices (9 ECTS) are validated by professional experience. If this is not the case, the student has the possibility of integrating into a real environment to develop their practices and carry out their Final Master's Project. Many of the students who choose this route end up being hired by the same company.
  16. The Internships in Companies They are another possibility for specialization, the possibility of developing internships in companies related to ESI, favoring incorporation into the world of work. Possibility of aligning the TFM with the work in the company or developing the work in specific areas that have a research agreement with the university.
  17. El TFM The student can propose it to specialize, continuing and expanding the TFG carried out or proposing a new work from scratch that is much more specific, being able to be less focused on development and more on analysis.
  18. Possibility of conditional admission. A student who has not completed the degree has the possibility of beginning the Master's degree in September, with the commitment to obtain the degree in January of the following year.
  19. Mobility. Being an official Master, it is also possible to apply for mobility scholarships both nationally and internationally. If what the student is looking for is to know other centers and places, they can do it with these scholarships by taking part of the subjects of the study plan, and others close to home.
  20. Price. It is an official Master's degree at a public university. The registration fee is approximately 1.200 euros, much lower than that of other private and unofficial Masters.
