Every year thousands of students face the difficult process of choosing a college major. The choice is not easy, since it implies considering various factors that can influence the professional future of the person. For this reason, many young people value aspects such as employability, flexibility and remuneration when making a decision.

A recent study published by the specialized website Zip Recruiter has revealed the university careers with the most and least regretful. According to data collected in the United States, 44% of job seekers regret having chosen their career. However, some careers stand out for having a high percentage of satisfied students.

Specifically, the university courses with the most satisfied students are Computer Science (72%), Criminology (72%), Engineering (71%), Nursing (69%), Business Administration (66%), Finance (66%), Psychology (65%), studies related to Construction (65%) and Human Resources ( 58%). These students would be willing to study the same career again.

On the other hand, according to the study, the careers with the highest number of regrets are Journalism, with 87% of their students regretting it, followed by Sociology (72%), Fine Arts (72%), Communication (64%), Education ( 61%), Marketing and Management (60%), Medicine or Health Care (58%), Political Science (56%), Biology (52%) and Literature (52%).

The reasons that lead students to regret their choice are diverse. Some highlight the lack of employment in their field of study, while others feel limited in their career or feel that they have not obtained the benefits they hoped for.
