The ESI takes Computing to the street

The Higher School of Informatics (UCLM) participated in the event Science on the Street, organized by the House of Science of Ciudad Real. The event was held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Parque Gasset in Ciudad Real, from 18:21 p.m. to 3:XNUMX p.m. During that interval of XNUMX hours there was a continuous flow of numerous families who felt restless and curious about the activities that the ESI had organized.

For this event, the School prepared various activities with which citizens could live experiences related to some of the latest advances in the field of Computer Science.

  • Virtual Reality – with which, mainly children, had their first experience of immersion in a virtual world.
  • Artificial Intelligence – families had the opportunity to converse with a conversational agent and artificially generate art.
  • Body Tracking – Tracking of body movements in real time and animation of virtual characters. This technique is frequently used in the film industry and in the world of video game development. At school it is used to help people with walking problems.
  • Educational Minecraft – It also caused great interest among boys and girls who had their first experience in the world of computer programming with one of their favorite games.

The event was also attended by 4th year students of the electronic commerce subject, with the solidarity project ResiCLA and HELP, to put up for sale the latest products donated to the initiative.

From here we want to thank the many families who were interested in the organized activities, and who were invited to visit the School in the future.
