ClusterFY

The ARCO group of the Higher School of Computer Science of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) heads the Spanish representation of the European project ClusterFY, an initiative of the Interreg Europe program that aims to promote the creation of clusters (or conglomerates of companies of common scope and generally located in the same area) of innovation as a tool for economic and social development.

The project, with a budget of more than two million euros and a duration of five years, aims to improve the instruments of regional and national policies that pursue the intensification of the formation processes of business clusters related to the Essential Enabling Technologies, as well as promoting interregional cooperation between clusters and business networks, encouraging their integration into innovative value chains.

The initiative is led by the Lithuanian Agency for Science, Innovation and Technology and includes, in addition to the UCLM, the Alliance of the Northern Provinces of the Netherlands (Holland), the Hudiksvall region (Sweden), the Polish Agency for Business Development (Poland), South-Muntenia Regional Development Agency (Romania), Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency (Slovenia) and Hellas Research and Technology Center (Greece).

The Spanish participation, and under the umbrella of the UCLM, integrates a representation of the main actors that are part of the innovation ecosystem of Castilla-La Mancha, and among which the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha stands out, as responsible for the innovation policies, and the ITECAM technology cluster, focused on the development of activities linked to Advanced Manufacturing Systems, one of the Essential Enabling Technologies defined by the EU.
