The ESI professor chairs the Communication, Computing and Electronics Engineering committee

Juan Carlos López, professor at the UCLM and professor at the Escuela Superior de Informática de Ciudad Real, has been named president of the Communication, Computing and Electronics Engineering Committee of the National Commission for the Evaluation of Research Activity (CNEAI). In other words, our professor will direct the body in charge of evaluating researchers from all over Spain in this field with a view to recognizing six-year terms or complements for productivity.

Juan Carlos López is a Doctor of Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM). After a two-year postdoctoral stay in the United States, he returned to UPM as a teacher and researcher. He joined UCLM in 2000, directing the Escuela Superior de Informática de Ciudad Real until 2008.
He currently directs the Arco research group, which works on the design of increasingly intelligent interconnected systems, which is the basis of current paradigms such as the internet of things, smart cities, industry 4.0, etc. He is also the director of the Indra Chair at UCLM.
