Closing of the I Expert Course in IT Service Management

A program to improve the training of those responsible for Information Technology (IT) at Universities

Last Thursday, June 25, the closing ceremony of the 1st course of "Expert in IT Service Management of Universities" was held at the UCLM School of Informatics (ESI), the center responsible for its delivery. Under the direction of professors Mario Piattini and Francisco Ruiz, and in collaboration with the ICT sector of the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE), the course has served for the professional updating of 33 students, all of them managers and IT managers and information technologies of universities, public and private, of the majority of Spanish autonomies. It has been taught in a blended format for nine months by 28 expert professors from more than 20 companies and universities. It has also had the direct collaboration and sponsorship of important companies in the sector: CISCO, Fujitsu, HP, Microsoft, Huawei, Lenovo, Informática el Corte Inglés, Vodafone, and ORACLE. The contents of the course are aligned with European and international recommendations on training ICT managers as agents of change, innovation and organizational improvement. The success of the course and the interest of other universities and people in receiving this advanced training has led to the design of a second edition, to be taught in 2016.

In the closing act, an academic diploma has been delivered to the students and has had the intervention of: Vice-rector of permanent training of the UCLM, Secretary General of the UCLM, Director of the ESI, directors of the course, and representative of CRUE -TIC.
